As the game that is on everyone’s mind right now, there haven’t been many opportunities to escape from the grip of this ever-popular Fortnite, though the title now appears to be bleeding between the traces of electronic fantasy and IRL reality with a clear new ARG/scavenger hunt from Epic Games.
From the lead-up to Season 5 of Fortnite, numerous users on Reddit, Twitter, along with different areas of the internet have started posting their customs of everything seems to be an elaborate ARG that Epic Games is crafting based on Fortnite.
The very first of these obvious sightings came a few days ago with the look of Durr Burger — the mascot of the in-game fast food chain — outside in the deserts of California.
What…. Is this… I’m in the center of the desert why’s that ??? pic.twitter.com/oTMiGc0Wno

A couple of days afterwards, though, Reddit user “eversoris86” (on the game’s official subreddit) posted a photo of one of Fortnite‘s signature Loot Llamas out within a telephone booth at London. The Reddit ribbon has since expanded to add several Llamas found in other places around the planet in that time, such as Germany, Spain, Poland, and France.
While we don’t really know exactly yet what these real-life things are leading up to, it seems all but certain tied to the events that Epic Games is teasing for its massively-popular conflict royale titles following year, and it sounds for certain like it will be the game’s biggest yet. Since the latest teaser from the studio signaled, it appears that time travel and alternate measurements will perform some part of the next season, so that appears to be a significant hint behind the recent wave of Fortnite items appearing IRL.
Fortnite is available today for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and iOS, together with all the game set to arrive on Android sometime this summer.
