Team17 Cancels Physical Version of Worms W.M.D. for Switch

Terrible news for Worms fans who adore physical copies of games (and happen to own a Nintendo Switch), yesterday, Team17 declared a physical version of Worms W.M.D. for the Nintendo Switch has been canceled.

This information comes by means of the official Worms Twitter account, which replied to a fan who asked when they might expect an official launch date for the Switch version of the game. To which, the publisher responded that they would no longer be pursuing   a physical replica for the name and the only way to purchase the game on the Switch was to purchase it digitally through the Nintendo eShop.

Originally released during the series’ 21st anniversary on August 23, 2016, for PC, PlayStation 4, along with Xbox One, Worms W.M.D. is a 2D turn-based approaches game. Along with getting the game, the Nintendo Switch version of W.M.D. also has a slew of additional features such as solitary Joy-Con support, a fresh Space theme, Mushroom and Tree House forts in Forts mode, in addition to previously unseen customization options, which comprises three brand new outfits.

Speaking of  the Nintendo Switch variant, yesterday Team17 introduced a new upgrade for the game along with a trailer to commemorate the occasion. Additionally, if you’d like more info on the title, assess out the launch trailer, that has been released back in November.

Worms W.M.D. is available today on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
