While consensus is that DOOM on Nintendo Switch is really a great port to a handheld system, few would deny it isn’t just a little rough round the edges when compared to the PC, PS4, or Xbox One versions. And while id Software and programmers difficulty Button can’t mend some problems stemming from the inherent hardware, there is a coming update looking to correct a few of the problems that fans and critics have been pointing out.
News comes straight from DOOM’s confirmed Twitter accounts, where they revealed that later this month that an update for your Nintendo Switch version will fix audio Problems, bring menu fixes, and much more:
We are going to be releasing an upcoming patch for #DOOM on #NintendoSwitch this season. We are going to provide whole patch notes — covering sound issues, menu fixes, and much much more — as we get closer to release. pic.twitter.com/0YyJ9OTqzK
Little else is known about the update we’ll see official patch notes in the future with information. But if the UI or even the noted sound concerns have been keeping you back from enjoying the game, you are able to go into buying the game having a little more confidence.
For those living under a stone from some of the greatest FPS games this creation, DOOM started in ancient 2016 to thunderous applause — a legitimate return-to-form for its series. The game came out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but left its way into Nintendo Switch last Fall.
