Back in 2005, Neon Studios, Kaiko, and Capcom released their action-adventure game Legend of Kay on PS2, to decent reviews and medium success. Five years later the game has been ported to Nintendo DS. Then in 2015, THQ Nordic (known as Nordic Games afterward) acquired the rights to the game, created Legend of Kay: Anniversary Edition, and released it on PC, Mac, Linux, PS3, PS4, Wii U, and Xbox 360.
Now, THQ Nordic announced that they’re once again reviving the land and bringing Legend of Kay: Anniversary Edition to Nintendo Switch after this year. THQ Nordic states it is bringing the game into Nintendo Switch as part of its “way of creating the game accessible to players of all kinds of platforms,” but it also makes sense to port the game into the Switch as games of its style do well on Nintendo platforms, and also the Nintendo Switch has been demonstrated to be a runaway success.
Launch Legend of Kay: Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch also suggests the game will be available on ten unique platforms. For people wondering what is unique about the Anniversary Edition, this remastered version of Legend of Kay comprises innovative high-resolution and detailed textures and character models, better manufacturing techniques, and surround audio support to make the game look and sound better.
